Super Eagles Secure Draw Against Zimbabwe in World Cup Qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were unable to narrow the gap on group leaders South Africa, securing another 1-1 draw against The Warriors of Zimbabwe at Hure Stadium in Bature, Rwanda on Sunday.

Despite pressure following Bafana Bafana's victory over Benin Republic, Baltemar Bito’s men took the lead with a remarkable free-kick by Walter Musona, nearly half an hour into the game against Francis Uzoho.  The Warriors showcased an impressive defensive performance, leaving the Eagles struggling to find an equalizer.

However, Nigeria managed to secure a draw with a goal from Kelechi Iheanacho in the 67th minute, courtesy of an over-the-top pass from Joe Aribor to Moses Simon, who set up the Leicester forward. This earned the team another point.

Despite the draw, Nigeria maintains their position in second World Cup qualifying Group C, one point behind leaders South Africa, while Zimbabwe holds onto third place.  Stay tuned!
