Brazilian Soccer Player, Dani Alves will stand trial for an alleged sexual assault in a Barcelona nightclub last year, says to a Spanish judge. The court in Barcelona has not yet set a date for the hearings.
Dani Alves, the 40-year-old, has been in pre-trial detention since January, following his arrest for an alleged assault on a woman in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30. An investigative judge indicted him in August.
Dani Alves, the former Barcelona defender, has denied any wrongdoing in the alleged sexual assault case.
Throughout his career, Alves won 42 soccer titles, including three Champions Leagues with Barcelona and two Copa America trophies with Brazil. He also participated in his third World Cup in Qatar last year.
